President
Sierra Gorsuch
Sierra Gorsuch is a 4th year aerospace engineering major at San Jose State University. She holds an L2 rocketry certification and has flown 2 scratchbuilt kits. She is passionate about working on rockets and high speed aircraft, with a subject area interest in structures, manufacturing, and materials. She looks forward to getting students involved in hands-on projects and enjoys working in community outreach.
Vice President
Tanisha Grover
Tanisha Grover is an Aerospace Engineering student with a minor in Aviation at San José State University. She has been an active member of the SJSU Rocket Club since her freshman year, serving as Public Relations Officer for two years before becoming Vice President. She holds both Level 1 and Level 2 high-power rocketry certifications, earning her Level 2 certification in March 2025. Her Level 2 rocket was the first within the SJSU Rocket Club to successfully earn certification using 3D-printed structural components, including the nose cone, coupler, and fins. She also serves as Team Lead for the university’s IREC team, overseeing the team’s organization, technical development, and competition efforts. Outside of rocketry, Tanisha enjoys scuba diving, hiking, and exploring the outdoors.

Marco Ramirez
Hello, my fellow engineers, my name is Marco Ramirez and I am currently a senior at SJSU. Ever since I was a kid, I was hooked to aviation to the point I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and before that I obtained an FAA AMT certificate. IREC has been my only rocket experience thus far but the L1 Tripoli certification is something that I am pursuing to add to my list of honors. In all the time I had spent trying to become an ethical engineer, I was fortunate enough to obtain associate degrees in Mathematics, Physics, Aircraft Maintenance, and Political Science. Hope you all enjoy Aerospace Engineering at SJSU as much as I do.

Rachel Vital Quinarez
Major/Year: Aerospace Engineering with a minor of Deaf Education, Junior
Rocketry Experience: I don't have any experience yet but im excited to become more involved and hope to build a rocket this semester
Academic Interests: Materials, structures, and dynamics right now????
Goals: I want to participate in more hand on projects, gain practical experience, learn new skills, and have fun while doing it Interested: I've always found space fascinating and think there's so much to explore and discover what's out there
Hobbies: Arts and crafts, napping, watching movies and shows, fun fact: I'm a commuter student (travel somewhat far)
Public Relations
Gabriella Shaw
Gabriella is a junior Aerospace Engineering student. She has her L1 High Power Certification and will fly her L2 in October Skies. She has experience building rockets using 3D-printed components and fiberglass airframes. She’s interested in controls and propulsion and would like to learn more about electronics this semester. When she’s not on campus, she enjoys Legos, cooking, hiking, surfing, and snowboarding.
Safety Officer
Hafizullah Amiri is a masters student with a major in Aerospace Engineering at San Jose State University. He is currently certified for both L1 and L2 High Powered Rocketry. As Safety Officer, Hafiz is responsible for the management of the lab and to ensure safety and proper handling of tools and equipment. Hafiz’s fascination with science, math, and building at a young age is what encouraged him to study in the field of aerospace.

Hi! I'm Brandon. I'm a 3rd year aviation major specializing in maintenance management. I currently have a L1 certification and am working on a rocket for my L2. My interests include naval/aerospace history and building things out of Lego.
