LAUNCHES

Our rocket club participates in launches organized by two national rocketry associations — the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) and the Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA). These organizations host official, insured, and FAA-approved rocket launches throughout the year across California and the U.S. Our members regularly attend events such as October Skies, Dairy Aire, and other monthly launches at fields like Snow Ranch (NAR) and Maddox Dairy (Tripoli Central California).

We encourage all members to join these events to fly, get certified, or simply enjoy watching. Below you’ll find details on both associations, what to bring, and how their launch schedules work.

WHEN:

Tripoli Rocketry: Third Saturday of every month

NARS: First Saturday of every month

START AND END TIME:

9am-4pm.

FEES:

Monthly Launch: $20

Major Events (Dairy Aire / October Skies): $50 (3-day) or $40 (with range duty)

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Current Tripoli or NAR membership card

  • Flight cards and certification paperwork

  • Motors and igniters (pre-order available)

  • Computer with OpenRocket, Tool kit, adhesives, spare parts, and safety glasses

  • Water, snacks, and weather-appropriate clothing
